Date: Thursday, October 22 Time: 4:00-5:00pm Author Sandra E. Bonura will discuss her book The Zoo Lady: How Belle Benchley Built the San Diego Zoo. Benchley navigated the San Diego Zoo through the brink of bankruptcy and became the world's first female zoo director in 1927 until 1953. She helped modernize how zoos displayed and cared for their beloved animals. No reservations required for this event.
