Oasis Lecture: The Vikings Nov 12

Thursday, November 12, 1:30-2:30pm

Join us for an Oasis lecture by Henry George, engineer, archaeologist, and geologist. The Vikings have long conjured images of ruthless raiders. However, they were also skilled seamen, fearless explorers, warrior-conquerors, nation builders, and astute merchants. This lecture will set the stage for the Viking Age from 790 to 1100 CE and then explore how the Vikings built their distinctive ships to sail the open ocean.

Funded by a grant from the Del Mar Foundation with the support of the Friends.
