Summer Learning Challenge June 1 - August 31
The Summer Learning Challenge offers opportunities for all ages to read, learn, and create this summer. The goal is for the community to have fun and learn new things while school is out of session. This program is designed for all ages so that entire families can participate together.
You can participate both online and in-person:
Ways to participate online: The SDCL website has a variety of options for participating in the Summer Learning Challenge – you can read books or enjoy interactive activities from local organizations through ReadSquared. This year's online program is available in English and Spanish.

Ways to participate in-person at the library: Visit the Del Mar Library to pick up coupons, activity books and prizes. Virtual badges are awarded online. Activity books are designed for kids, teens, and adults, and will be available in six languages: English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Filipino, and Vietnamese.

Completion scholastic book prizes and museum coupons are being distributed at the library and virtual completion badges are offered on-line.
To get started, register online at or inside the branch:
Anyone can sign up for the summer learning challenge. It is free to participate and does not require a San Diego County Library card number. Community members of all ages are encouraged to participate. Participants may also come to the branch libraries to pick up activity books, coupons and their prize books in one visit.
