ABOUT THE FRIENDS
The Friends of the Del Mar Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit all-volunteer organization created to support and enhance the Del Mar Library. Through donations, memberships, grants and book sales, we help fund new books, library improvements, and a wide range of adult, teen and children's programs.
It is the Friends mission to help the branch be responsive to the needs of the community, support the San Diego County Library system in implementing its programs, and maintain an association of persons interested in promoting literacy.
The Friends-sponsored adult, teen and children's programs include Toddler Story Times, Summer Reading Challenge, Bluegrass concerts, Yoga, Bridge, and much more. In-person events are back on a limited basis.
One of our favorite activities is selecting and donating new books to the Del Mar Library through the Friends Express program. Check out the new titles below, or on the carousel as you enter the library.
Since 1982, the Friends have been an essential part of the Del Mar Library. Read about the journey to raise awareness and funds to purchase the Craftsman-era building to create a library that is the pride of the Del Mar community.
